Board of Adjustment

The City of Tulsa Board of Adjustment is empowered by state law with granting variances due to hardships and special exceptions to the zoning within its jurisdiction.

When an application is filed, Tulsa Planning Office staff publishes official public notices and informs nearby residents and neighborhood associations. Staff then reviews appropriate plans and development policies to formulate the case study and staff analysis. An action summary and/or minutes are prepared of the BOA meetings and sent to various city policy and administrative officials for their information and/or action as appropriate.

The Board of Adjustment processes approximately 225 cases annually.
